Cross Party Group

RoSPA in Scotland provides the Secretariat to the Scottish Parliament's Cross Party Group (CPG) on Accident Prevention and Safety Awareness. The Convenor of this CPG is Clare Adamson, MSP and the Deputy Convenor is Graham Simpson, MSP. The purpose of the CPG is “to promote all aspects of safety through safety awareness and accident prevention” and as such considers safety issues in the home, on the road, in and around water and in the workplace and any other place where accidents occur. The format of the meetings is to hear short presentations on relevant topics followed by group discussion, questions, comments and suggested recommendations. As at November 2016 the CPG had over 100 member organisations. Further information on the additional office bearers, future meetings dates and the minutes of previous meetings are available at the Scottish Parliament website.

Topics for discussion along with associated ideas for speakers are always welcome. In the first instance, please contact the Secretary, Elizabeth Lumsden, community safety manager, RoSPA Scotland on 0131 449 9379 or [email protected] If you would like to become a member of this group please also contact the Secretary.

All presentations from the meetings will be available on this web page.
